19.1 The Lord is the way, and the truth, and the life

Series 19

Episode 1

Brothers and sisters, though you are now in the meeting place, in fact, you are living in God’s grace and love. This is the dwelling place of our spirit, our home. It’s so precious! The Lord came to tell us, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life.” (John 14:6) First, He opened a way. Our sins were wicked. God’s holiness is beyond measure and He is righteous. His love is the same as His infinity. His love is extraordinary! His love is not like the love on earth. He loves us, but He does not spoil us. He is very glorious and He lives in the light that man cannot approach.

Hebrews chapter 12 is very precious. Actually, the entire book of Hebrews is very precious, and it is closely related to us. “Much more excellent or better” is mentioned about twelve times in the book of Hebrews. The Lord has established with us the most beautiful covenant in the whole universe. It’s a much more excellent covenant. God is love, and God is light. He is holy, and righteous. He is the light and He is full of truth. Everything that is true comes from Him. He is the One who is true. The Lord first came to open a way for us. At the same time, He is also the truth. Man goes astray from the truth and does not know the truth. There are some that man considers true but in fact false. Some might be true, but it is not meaningful. Apart from Him, many things can turn out to be harmful. You are very precious. However, if you are apart from Him, you may become wicked, and can even cause harm to others. On the other hand, you can also become much better than the angels. Only when you are filled with Him can you live as a normal person. He desires you to have the deepest union with Him and fully enjoy Him.

I give thanks to the Lord that I searched for the truth and meaning of life even before I believed in Him. The meaning of life is part of the truth. However, the truth is nowhere to be found. It can only be found in Him and in His word. He said that He is the truth. He is the origin. His word is the truth. We need Him to open our spiritual eyes. He is the light. He has lit up my life, and greatly impacted my life from now through eternity.

I experienced Him being the way. In the past, I searched in darkness. But now, I’m deeply united with Him. He has brought me back to His most beautiful loving heart. Without these experiences, how could I write so many songs? A lot of these songs are the results of my experiences and understanding of God. We can really experience Him. He is not merely the truth to discern right or wrong, or to tell whether something is true. He is our life. Wow! He is the food for our spirit, the bread of our life. He is whom our spirit needs the most. He satisfies us. Even Moses said that he was satisfied with the Lord’s steadfast love.

The Lord said that those who come to Him, shall not hunger or thirst. He even lives in our hearts and becomes our life. It’s very precious! The eternal life, infinitely glorious life is in me. It doesn’t mean that He replaces my spirit. He is in me to influence me in my spirit, and to nourish me from within. He helps me when I rely on Him. My heart is connected to the origin of life. He is the true vine and I am the branch. His word is true. I can fully experience that He is the way, and the truth, and the life. He told us that He is the bread of life, and this is how I experience Him every day. He is the light for the world. Those who follow Him shall not walk in darkness. This is also my experience. He led me into the marvelous light and lit up my life.

Coming to Mount Zion to Appear Before God

Message Date: 2020-03-22

The Lord is the way, the truth and the life. It’s so precious that we can go to the Father through Him. Hebrews 12 mentions that today we have not come to Mount Sinai (symbolizing law), but to Mount Zion (symbolizing grace). We live in grace, and enjoy deeply drawing near to the Father and the Lord. In the book of Colossians, some brothers and sisters turned back to the law, so Paul reminded them to mind the things above. Hebrews 12 tells us what are above: the heavenly Jerusalem, the assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, innumerable angels, Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, the sprinkled blood, the spirits of the righteous made perfect, etc. Each of these is very abundant, essential and immeasurable. They also express God’s love, welcome and acceptance to us, and they help us to draw near to God. Psalm 84 tells us that in those times, Israel appeared before God in Zion; they longed to draw near to God. As for us, we have received grace even more tremendously and wonderfully. So, we should come before God and draw close to Him all the more.
