Brothers and sisters, the Lord has a name called “wonderful.” God is truly wonderful. He is everlasting. His presence is everywhere. Everything you can see is wonderful. The more we know about Him, the more we understand how wonderful everything is. Man’s understanding of God is still very limited. God has given man wisdom to develop many instruments to view the enormous universe, and to see His greatness. Indeed, this is not a simple thing! Could this just be a coincidence? God wants us to know Him. Romans chapter 1, verse 20 explains how God helps us to know His eternal power and divine nature through the creation of the world and the things He made. God is indeed amazing! His creation of man is even more amazing. We are surrounded by wonderful things, big and small. In fact, a lot of huge objects are made up of many small elements.
The Bible says God is the one who alone does wondrous things. We are His most wonderful creation. We have a spirit, soul, and body. Angels only have spirits. Isn’t this wonderful? The Bible says God alone does wondrous things. In particular, among the Trinity God, the Lord became a man for us. This is extremely amazing and precious. God alone does wondrous things. Only He could do this. We live in a world of wonders. You yourself are already wonderful. It is right for Him to be called “wonderful.” His heart and love towards us are also very wonderful. It is so precious that we are united with Him forever. He indeed is the God who does wondrous things.
Today I want to talk about the firstborn, especially in regards to priesthood. It’s very precious that out of everything in the universe, the church is the assembly of the firstborn. The Lord is the High Priest, hence we are a team of priests. The Book of Revelation and the New Testament explain how the Lord made us priests. This is a wonderful era where all of us, including sisters, have become priests. All of us, including both brothers and sisters, ought to applaud. In the Old Testament times, there was only one high priest. He could enter the Holy of Holies only once a year. Now, God wants you to be free of fear and fully confident to come to the Holy of Holies by the blood of the Lord Jesus. There’s no doubt that God wants you to be very close to Him. This is His desire, yet He will not force you.
In Hebrews, God again and again calls you to come before Him. He calls you to enter the Holy of Holies. He calls you to be very close to Him and be face to face with Him. Psalm 91, verse 1 says “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High…” Song of Solomon chapter 1 tells us that this King of manifold love has brought us into His chambers. The Lord has not invited you to be His guest. No matter how important or honourable a guest might be, he or she would not be brought into the king’s chambers. When the Lord taught us to pray in Matthew chapter 6, verse 6, He told us to go into our room and pray to our Father who is in secret. He desires you to be very close to Him, and enjoy an intimate world of two with Him.
One of God’s names is “The Lord will provide.” It’s very precious to me that He will provide. Genesis chapter 22, verse 14 says “On the mount of the Lord it shall be provided.” It’s very precious that Jehovah, the self-existing and infinite One, would indeed provide. First and foremost, I treasure that God prepared a body for the Lord Jesus. The Lord became a man forever. This is indeed extremely amazing and stunning! God prepared a Saviour for us, who did not only become our Saviour but also a man forever. God prepared a lamb to be sacrificed for us. He prepared a body for the Lord, who made a single sacrifice for sins for all time.
In John chapter 14 verse 2, on the night before His crucifixion, the Lord told the disciples “…I go to prepare a place for you.” (John 14:2) The Lord went to prepare a dwelling place for us, which is the New Jerusalem. It’s so precious! We are so blessed. People want to buy new places to live in. Our new dwelling place is beyond amazing! The time is near. This will come true very quickly. Don’t you feel joyous? When the time comes, we won’t even have to lift our feet to ascend to heaven. We will experience an exceeding joy! There’s no need to go to Disneyland. The Lord will take us on a grand tour of the universe. He has prepared an eternal home for us, the most beautiful and the warmest home. It is also the house of God. The Lord says, “In my Father’s house are many rooms.” (John 14:2) I know for sure I have a place there, because my name has been written in the Lamb’s book of life. Wow! We will not just regain paradise, but something that’s beyond paradise. We will surely see it with our own eyes soon.
