Wow! It’s so precious that the Lord has swallowed up death forever! Here is a a song I wrote today.
The Defeat of Death (Hymn, 2020 version)
He has swallowed up death forever.
The Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces.
He will take away the reproach of His people from all the earth.
He has swallowed up death forever.
The Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces.
The recent pandemic has caused many casualties across the globe. However, with the Lord, we can have hope even when we face death. Of course, we also live a life that is full of hope. Whether in life or in death, nothing can separate us from His love. Nothing can set us apart from the Lord. He and I have the deepest union in the whole universe. He is the Lord of life, and I am deeply united with Him! In eternity, our body will be more glorious than Adam’s. Our resurrected body will be the same as the glorious resurrected body of the Lord. We will inherit all things with Him and reign with Him. Being the most precious kings, we will be the blessings to the many generations to come!
Many of us are familiar with this passage from the Book of Revelation. Let’s continue the song.
Revelation 21:4 (Hymn)
God will wipe away every tear from their eyes,
And death shall be no more, and death shall be no more;
Neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore,
For the former things have passed away.
After man sinned, man can no longer enter the garden of Eden or eat the fruit from the tree of life. But it’s so precious that the Lord passed through the flaming sword. He endured the greatest pain. He was crushed. The Lord Jesus also bruised Satan’s head. He has removed man’s sin and swallowed up death. Whether we are awake or asleep, we live and we will live with Him. Let me continue the song.
The Lord has swallowed up death (Hymn)
He has swallowed up death forever.
O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?
The Lord has gloriously risen from the dead;
He lives for me forever.
He lives with me and in me forever.
It’s very precious that the Lord is so close to us, the closest in the universe. No one can be as close to us as the Lord! He lives in our hearts, being in one spirit with us. Nothing and no one is closer! Being so close to us, He lives in love with us. He wants us to enjoy Him intimately. He desires to be the nearest with us. Let’s sing together the last few verses of Revelation chapter 1. When John wrote this, his surroundings and the churches’ conditions were not favourable. However, the risen Lord laid His right hand on John and said to him, “Fear not!”
Revelation 1:17-18 (Hymn)
Fear not! Fear not!
I am the first and the last,
And I am the living one.
I died, and I am alive forevermore.
I am alive forevermore.
And I have the keys of Death and Hades.
Fear not! I am with you!
