In the Old Testament, it says that the Lord daily bears us up (Psalm 68:19). This same Lord came personally and said in Matt 11:28, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” This is the biggest welcome!
Verses 29-30 read, “Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” If you are proud, unlike the Lord, , you will not find rest for your souls.
It’s so precious that this eternal God, this infinite One says He is gentle and lowly in heart. Only He Himself knows how glorious and great He truly is. But He has revealed His infinite attributes to you and me through all His creations. We can examine His creation at different scales.
On a macro scale, you can see a small part of the sky when you look up . You can actually see more things at night time, especially in countries without many light sources at night. How beautiful are those stars!
We also know something about God’s creation on a micro scale, like when we look at our cell phones. Right now, we have to wear masks, and the very reason is related to the molecular world that God created. Our immune system is so amazing: an “army” is protecting us inside our bodies, and fighting battles for us. It’s so amazing that even garbage contains a molecular world that we can neither see with our eyes nor create ourselves.
Your body is an example of God’s creation on a human scale. You have lived for quite a number of years, so you should understand and know something about your body and your brain .
The most special thing about the creation of humans is our spirit. I don’t know how to describe this, but it’s so glorious! It gives us the potential to be deeply united with the eternal God, the infinite One. Moreover, our glory will continue to increase through eternity. It’s so amazing! We have become the Lord’s most compatible darlings and Abba’s dearest children. We are really the most special!
From Genesis Chapter 1 and 2, we can see that the way God created man was very different from how the animals were created. The Lord became a Man forever, and He shed His precious blood. The Trinity God suffered much pain in order to redeem our spirits and betroth us to be His forever. Who can describe our value in God’s heart, or how high a position our spirit has? It’s so precious that the Lord came! He spoke about our preciousness in Abba’s and His own heart since eternity past. Not only that, but He also proved it with His own actions. He didn’t come as an adult like how Adam appeared, but He became a baby, lived a beautiful life, and deeply entered into our needs. He even died for us. We should really remember what He did for us all our lives! It’s so precious that we are not asked to remember somebody who passed away. He once died, but He rose from the dead, and He lives forever. Moreover, He lives in our hearts! In this whole universe, there’s no one who’s more alive than He is. He is eternal life! And now He has become my life. Christ in me has become the hope of glory till eternity.
People are very arrogant. They merely have some material things and a little power, but they are far too proud. A mere man can be so arrogant, but this eternal God, the infinite One, says, “I am gentle and lowly in heart.” When I read the Bible in the past, I always felt that the mighty God was really humble. He is indeed gentle and lowly in heart. You can look at how He talked. Even when He was treated badly by men, did he ever say, “Do you know who I am?” It’s so precious that the eternal God, the infinite One, says “I am gentle and lowly in heart.” Indeed He is! When you read through the whole Bible, you cannot find the Lord boasting of His almighty power or His glory anywhere. Even though He was such a glorious Lord, He was greatly shamed by those whom He created. Actually, He could easily strike us down without lifting a finger. Take a look at what the Lord experienced on the night before His crucifixion, and on the day of it. Abba allowed His Son to be “carved”, wounded and humiliated. And for our sins, Abba personally punished, struck, and forsook His Beloved Son. Paul said that in this, God shows His love for us (Romans 5:8).
It’s so precious that we are redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, and our names are written in the Lamb’s book of life. I hope that the day will soon come when we shall rightly lead everyone to praise the Lamb. Who else will be more qualified than us to do that? We’ve become the Lamb’s wife, His bride. Right now, He’s preparing a place for us, that is, the New Jerusalem. The Lamb is the lamp of the City. Is there any other light more beautiful than that of the Lamb ? The sunlight at dawn and at dusk cannot compare to it. Forever, we will live in the light of the Lamb, in the glorious light of God, in His presence, in His love!
In the City, there’s the river of the water of life and the marriage supper of the Lamb. Take note that the Bible does not describe it as “the marriage supper of the Lamb and the church”. Only the Lamb is mentioned, and the church is omitted. This is different from how marriages are described on earth, where both the bride and the groom are mentioned. But I feel this is right , because what He has done is so wonderful: He initiated this love plan and took action on it; He paid such a high price to gain us. In fact, what He did shook the heavens and the earth. He should be the centre. However, we are the stars of His love dream, and the seal in His heart. We most deeply belong to each other.
