The World Needs People Who Deeply Experience God

Series 3

Episode 1

Prologue

Brothers and sisters, the topic for today’s Treasures for the Soul is “The World Needs People Who Deeply Experience God”. Nowadays, there is never-ending information to browse. However, nothing can replace the alone time you directly spend with the Lord. Psalm 45 mentions that we need to listen, consider and incline our ear. This means we need to pay close attention to the Lord. When the Lord was transfigured on the mountain, a voice from above said,  “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.” When we draw near to God, it’s not a one-sided conversation from us to Him. Instead, it’s an interflow, and we are building a relationship with Him. We also hear the Lord speaking to us directly through the Bible. We really enjoy the alone time with Him.

Message

It’s so easy for us to obtain knowledge and information. We have published many messages, books, and hymns. And with the cell phone and the advancement of technology, there are so many overwhelming resources that you could never finish browsing through. They may not all be beneficial for us though. There is a tremendous amount of information out there, but how much can you take? Just like if I gave you all the shoes in the world, how many pairs could you actually wear? I have been giving you so many precious messages throughout the years, yet by no means can they replace your alone time with God. Nothing in the world can replace this first hand experience you have with the Lord. It’s so precious that He wants this time with you every day. He lives in your heart. No one in this whole universe is as close to you as He is. It’s just how much you are willing to open up to Him, how much time you give to Him, and whether there is a good environment for deep fellowship with Him. On His side, there is no problem. Sometimes it’s not that you don’t have a heart for Him, but you might not understand Him enough. Out of the massive amount of information in the world, much of it is harmful, false and useless. Even if all of it was good and true, still, none can replace your alone time directly with God. When you are heart to heart with Him, your spirit and His are having interflow, and you are building a true relationship with Him.

Is there any hindrance between you and Him? The Lord was nailed on the cross to remove our sins. But some things may disturb you, such as your environment. So, you need to find a good environment to spend time with Him. He is the King of love who has become a Man for us. His throne is everlasting, but He wants us to be enthroned with Him. In the “Mini Song of Solomon” (Psalm 45), we are the main character. It reads, “Hear, O daughter, and consider, and incline your ear. Forget your people and your father’s house.” In your mind, there might be something that disturbs you, so you need to lay it aside. It also says, “The king will desire your beauty.“ If you focus to listen and consider, you are having interflow with Him in the spirit. He speaks to you and has a part in the communication. It’s not just you continually talking to Him on your end. Some people when they draw near to God, they just keep talking and talking and talking. When it’s time to go, they just leave. In this way, God’s listening to them, but they don’t listen to God. Here, however, says that we need to hear. Of course, He loves to hear your voice too. But what you say must be from your heart and not just out of routine. He treasures whatever you say to Him from your heart. When you say sincerely from your heart, “Lord, I love You!” “Lord, in the whole universe, I love You the most.” He treasures this very very much. It doesn’t matter if you’re not able to find any new expressions to say to Him, nor if you have repeated to Him thousands of times already; He treasures it.

When the Lord was transfigured on the mountain; a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.” Therefore, it’s important for us to listen to Him. If it’s only me talking and without Him talking, it’s not beneficial. For instance, if you are talking with someone who loves you very much, who is also great, knowledgeable and helpful, and you want to know him better. But for the whole hour, you keep talking and talking, and you don’t give him a chance to talk; you would miss the chance to absorb what he wants to convey to you. You can’t benefit from this kind of communication. The Bible says you should be quick to hear and slow to speak. You can benefit from listening to someone knowledgeable. If you keep talking without hearing the Lord’s voice, you’ll miss His guidance. As a result, you’re leading the fellowship with Him and He has to follow suit. You will suffer loss because He’s wiser than you and He knows your needs better even better than you know yourself. Without mutual communication with Him, you won’t be happy because it’s one sided. You lack interflow. Your relationship with Him can’t further develop.

The Lord has already given us His words, which is His own love letter to us. But even that’s not enough. We need Him to open our eyes and speak to our heart through His words. His words are lively; they can enter into our hearts and affect us. Then you will find His words more helpful. You have experienced this before. There were some of His words in the past that you did not understand as much , but then today you realized you can understand better. It was the same you that read the words, but you feel differently. Your heart feels nourished, attracted, strengthened and focused. And you have new experiences with Him.

Let Our Hearts be Influenced

Message Date: 2020-01-10

This world needs people who deeply experience God in their spirits. Nothing can replace this first-hand experience with God. When we read the Bible, it is important that the Lord works in our hearts, letting His words shine through and influencing our hearts. Therefore, we should know how to have fellowship with the Lord. Besides looking for a good environment to draw near to God, we also need to have a good inner environment, suitable for having fellowship with Him, because it is our spirits that are united to the spirit of the Infinite One. Having peace in our heart creates a good environment for our spirit to have fellowship with God and to listen to His words. We should also abide in the Lord, just as the Holy Spirit works in our hearts (as His Anointing has taught us). Whether we read the Bible or sing hymns, we are letting the Lord speak to our spirits, where our hearts can be influenced, attracted and know how to quiet ourselves before Him–our spirits are not blank, but we enjoy more deeply, and receive more from Him. Having fellowship with the Lord can truly help us to deepen our friendship with Him.
